Our mission is to empower women to live more joyful years, free from discomfort and disease.
We believe every woman should have proactive healthcare, care that builds good health from the root cause. We believe the body must be viewed as an interconnected system of parts, and that symptoms aren’t there to be quieted, but to be listened to. We know the best care comes from blending conventional procedures and prescriptions with medical care that understands the overwhelming power of our everyday lifestyle on our health. We believe in listening quietly and diving deep into the data.
We are here so that every woman has the best chance of experiencing all the joys her body has to offer—all its sensations and fruits and gifts—for as many years as possible.
How Almond was born
We created Almond because we were frustrated by our ObGyn experiences.
The difficult scheduling, unanswered questions, and lack of transparency. We were disheartened by seeking answers and feeling the responses were designed to speed us through the visit. It just wasn’t cutting it.
I was working as a management consultant, spending long hours in small rooms, working on saving millions of dollars a year for big hospitals. At the same time, I couldn’t get an ObGyn appointment when I needed one to deal with chronic UTIs. I was told my spiking ANA levels were out of my hands to control, and that I should “just relax”.
Why was so much energy being spent to fine tune massive health systems, when patients were having the same (poor) visit experiences our grandmothers had? Why can I order 12 colors of masking tape online in two minutes but it takes three phone calls to get a pap smear booked? Why is conventional medicine waiting for us to get sick, to then treat us with medication and surgery, when we know so much about how to prevent and delay disease that isn’t being put to use? It didn’t make sense.
So we re-imagined: what does an experience look like that builds women up?
One that takes the avoidable missteps off our shoulders, that obsesses over understanding what’s going on in our bodies, and that designs a treatment designed around our needs. Not around the insurance company, the doctor’s office working hours, or the experiences of our generous friends, cousins, and co-workers. Around us.
That’s how Almond was born.

Because we believe in living as well as possible for as long as possible.
This is medicine for women who want to live for as long as possible and feel as well as possible, and for those who won’t settle for “normal” when their body says otherwise.
Functional Medicine asks why. Not just what’s wrong, but what’s underneath? What systems are speaking? What is your body asking for?
It’s an integrative, systems-based approach to root-cause healing, one that sees the body as interconnected, and that uses all the data possible—labs, bio trackers, genetics, environment—to understand your story from its roots. It then relies on a cross-functional team of experts including MDs, nutritionists, and mental healthcare providers, to treat your whole body and give you the best chance at health by fundamentally optimizing your lifestyle—across nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and social connection.
Nutrition
Food is foundational. Understand what nourishes you—whole, gut-health, anti-inflammatory foods—and get a personalized approach to nutrients balance.
Across the lifespan, nutrition supports:
Hormonal balance and menstrual regularity in adolescence and fertility years
Reduced symptoms of PCOS, endometriosis, and perimenopause
Improved insulin sensitivity, metabolic health, and healthy weight management
Lower inflammation and chronic disease risk, including heart disease and breast cancer
Better cognition and bone density in aging
Sleep
True healing happens in stillness. We prioritize deep, restorative sleep and honor your body’s need to pause—so hormones can balance, tissues can repair, and your nervous system can recalibrate.
Across the lifespan, sleep and rest improve:
Mood stability and emotional regulation
Fertility and menstrual health through cortisol and melatonin balance
Recovery from pregnancy, postpartum exhaustion, and perimenopausal sleep disturbances
Cognitive function, immune resilience, and healthy aging
Movement
Moving your body is medicine—but not one-size-fits-all. We explore how movement can support your metabolism, reduce inflammation, elevate mood, and reconnect you to your strength and vitality.
Across the lifespan, movement:
Enhances muscle, bone, and joint health from youth to postmenopause
Supports weight regulation, hormone metabolism, and ovulatory function
Improves mental clarity, libido, and energy
Reduces risk of chronic disease and supports longevity
Stress
Stress isn’t just emotional—it’s biochemical. Regulate your nervous system through tools like breathwork, mindfulness, nature, and somatic awareness—so your body can shift from survival mode to healing mode.
Across the lifespan, stress resilience:
Regulates cycles and reduce symptoms of PMS, PCOS, and infertility
Buffers the hormonal fluctuations of postpartum and menopause
Prevents burnout and preserve brain health, memory, and mood
Lowers cortisol, blood pressure, and inflammatory markers associated with chronic illness
Social connection
We weren’t meant to do this alone. We recognize the healing power of connection—how belonging, support, and safe relationships impact your immune system, mood, and even longevity.
Across the lifespan, relationships and community:
Reduces depression and anxiety
Improves immune function, blood pressure, and cardiovascular health
Enhances hormone regulation via oxytocin and vagal tone
Extends lifespan and buffers against age-related decline
Increasing sleep by 75 minutes/night, movement by just 13 minutes/day, and eating more vegetables and less processed food led to a 50% reduction in death over an 8 year period.
