We're not accepting new patients at this time

Dear Almond patients

With deep gratitude and heavy hearts, we are writing to share an important update: Almond OBGYN will be closing.

Over the last four-plus years, we have been incredibly proud of what we have built together. Our mission has always been to provide thoughtful, wellness-centered, relationship-based care - and it has been the privilege of our lives to walk alongside you through vulnerable seasons, uncertain moments, joyful milestones, energizing transformations, and everything in between. Being entrusted with your health and your stories has been a true honor and a joy for our whole team.

After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to close the clinic. We want to share some context because we think you deserve to understand how we arrived at this point, given the trust you placed in us. The short answer is that we were not able to create a financially sustainable model, despite having an extraordinary team of experts who are passionate about transforming women’s health. The financial realities of today’s healthcare and insurance systems have made it increasingly challenging to practice medicine in a way that aligns with our values and with the level of care we believe women deserve. We saw around us ObGyn practices closing, or selling to hospitals, or dropping maternity care or no longer taking insurance and we believed in creating a different model – but a private practice that spends what we feel is “enough” time with patients still didn’t work. This is a deeply sad moment for the entire Almond team, who have poured their hearts into building what we hoped would be the future of women’s health. We feel the heaviness of this move, for you, our patients, most of all.

We still believe that healthcare for women requires radical transformation, and the journey of improving women’s healthcare experiences is just beginning. We are proud of the small role we played paving the way for more progress for women. There is more to come.

Over the next several weeks, our highest priority is ensuring that you are well supported and have a clear place to land once we close. We are working closely with Tia to allow for a smooth transition of your care to them – we trust their philosophy of whole-woman care, and their commitment to creating a great patient experience. We are also listing a few additional providers for specialty needs. Our team is committed to making this process as seamless as possible for you.

We understand that this news may bring questions. Please see more in the FAQ below. As always, you can message us in your Almond dashboard (or text us) with any questions, or book time with our admin team here

Caring for you has been an extraordinary honor. Thank you for trusting us with your health, your questions, your fears, and your growth. We will never forget it. And we hope that everyone who experienced Almond carries forward this truth: women deserve truly thorough, compassionate care.

You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

With appreciation and care,

The Almond OBGYN Team

I have surgery scheduled with Dr. Evans in March.
We will continue with all scheduled surgeries as well as post-op visits.

I’m a maternity member - what should I do?
If you are currently pregnant, our team will work closely with you to ensure a smooth transfer of care to a trusted provider. We will provide recommendations and coordinate records to support continuity. You should have already received contact from an Almond team member regarding the transition. Please send us a message in your portal if you have not heard from us yet.

I have a Deep Dive Membership, and Almond is managing my GLP prescription. What should I do?
During the month of March, Almond can help you transition your prescription to Tia Health. We can share your records with them and ensure you have enough refills in place.

Will prescriptions and refills still be handled?
Yes, we will continue managing prescription refills during the transition. We encourage you to establish care with a new provider as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted medication management. If you need a refill, you can request any medications directly through your Almond dashboard. Just log in at almondobgyn.com, click on ‘Get Care’, then choose ‘Medication Request’ as your visit reason. You’ll be asked a few quick questions so our providers have all the info they need to help. Please ensure all refill requests are submitted by March 15th, 2026.

How do I obtain my medical records?
Between now and March 29th, you can request that we share your medical records with your or the healthcare organization of your choice by filling out this form.  We will send out another message in March on how to obtain records after March 29th, 2026.

What if something urgent comes up?

How can I find all my Almond providers once Almond is closed?

Tylene Covington, CNM
Ty works at Cedars-Sinai Hospital as a Midwife in Labor & Delivery. She will also likely be continuing to see patients outside of the hospital setting in Los Angeles.

Christy Evans, MD
Dr. Christy Evans, our Medical Director, will be launching her own boutique practice and will begin seeing patients starting in April 2026. If you would like to stay informed about her new practice, updates, and next steps, sign up at www.christyevansmd.com and follow her on Instagram at @christyevansmd

Toni Morrissey, MD
Toni works full-time at the Maven Clinic and will likely be continuing to serve women in Los Angeles on weekends.

Willie Larson, CNM
You can find Willie at Pregnancy Pathways. This is for pregnant patients who want help navigating early pregnancy or want to build a great pregnancy and birth team with doulas, OBs, midwives, body workers, and other practitioners.

Willie is currently exploring her next role for in-person care. We will let you know as soon as possible where you can go to see her.

Alexis Ross, PA-C
Alexis will be continuing to care for patients at Suzanne Gilberg, MD - Monarch Women’s Health in West Hollywood. If you are interested in continuing their care with Alexis, you are welcome to contact the practice directly for additional information regarding services and scheduling availability - members@monarchmd.com, (424) 404-6616

Ruchika Behal, Functional Health Coach

Ruchika will still be available to all Almond patients through her own private practice

We will follow up with more information very soon as their plans become finalized. We want to make sure you are able to find them moving forward!

Why is the clinic closing?
This decision comes after careful reflection. The financial pressures within the current healthcare system have made it increasingly difficult to sustain the kind of personalized, root-cause, relationship-based care we believe women deserve. While this chapter is ending, our commitment to women’s health and advocacy remains strong.

When will my last membership payment be? All memberships will end on March 29th, 2026, or sooner if you have requested cancellation. We will not be collecting any membership fees after February 28th, 2026, but you will still have access to Almond through March 29th, 2026. If you would like to cancel your membership sooner, you can do so here.
